Area and Perimeter
Perimeter is the distance all the way around the outside of a shape. Area is the amount of space inside a shape.
Finding perimeter
Add up the length of every side. A rectangle with sides 5cm and 3cm has a perimeter of 5 + 3 + 5 + 3 = 16cm.
Finding area of a rectangle
Multiply length by width. The same rectangle has an area of 5 × 3 = 15cm².
